This page is where I occasionally put up details about things I am currently working on.

I continue running The Wind Down, these days it mostly means working with specific clients, one spend-out foundation and one fiscally sponsored membership organization, helping them strategize and carry out their thoughtful closures

I am also writing the Closing Remarks newsletter — though decidedly less often than I would like to. I am still sad that the Community

I am currently reading My Parent’s Marriage by Nana Ekua Brew-Hammond. She (like me!) is part of the Ewe ethnic group from Ghana as are the characters in the book. It is a sweet read and as it is about Ghanaians in the 70s and a couple going abroad, it has me wondering a lot about my mom’s experience of becoming a Ghanaian immigrant in this same period. Before that book, I read the play The Man Who Never Died about the amazing activist Joe Hill. More people really need to be taught about him. Before that I devoured the protopian sci-fi novel A Half-Built Garden.

I am looking forward to seeing many silly summer blockbuster movies (e.g. Masters of the Universe, Disclosure Day, Supergirl). The last film I saw in theater was Boots Riley’s I Love Boosters. It was kinda silly but a lot of fun. I definitely intend to watch it again when it is streaming because it is one of those films that is full of a lot of little easter eggs that you have to pause to catch.

In the fall, I’d love to explore getting involved in some things in my neighborhood. I quit the community garden at the end of the last year because of personality clashes. I am just on the periphery of my local mutual aid group. I am just doing the CSA for now. It’s gonna have to be enough for now!
